Too Big For The Small? Too Small For The Big

“If you are too big to do the small things, you are too small to do the big things! Can you be anointed as king and still deliver a pizza?” ~ Dr. Rhema Ehiemere

Sunday was truly a ‘Night of Overflow’ as Dr. Rhema Ehiemere continued his teaching on the story of David, focusing on a significant turning point in David’s life: the battle against Goliath (1 Samuel 17). In his message titled “It’s Going to Happen Today,” we, as believers, learned that God’s love, grace, and purpose are actively at work within us, even when we don’t feel prepared. God’s influence is not constrained by our past, imperfections, or current circumstances. For example, when Goliath, a colossal warrior, taunted the Israelite army and challenged them to a one-on-one fight, the Israelite soldiers were filled with fear. However, it was David, a young shepherd, who volunteered to confront Goliath because he trusted in God’s power. No one anticipated that God would choose him or possess the wisdom and strength to defeat the giant, yet he did! David rejected King Saul’s armor and fought with his sling and five smooth stones. As he faced Goliath, who mocked him for his youth and lack of weapons, David used his sling to strike Goliath in the forehead, causing the giant to fall. With Goliath defeated, the Philistines retreated, and the Israelites celebrated their victory. This passage depicts how even the smallest individual can achieve remarkable things with God’s help.

Dr. Rhema shared seven principles to help you become who God has called you to be:

  1. Don’t confuse your time of anointing with your time of announcement!
  • Your progress is in your process.
  • Being anointed and being chosen is not a substitute for being ready.

  1. Your imperfection is your qualification!
  • God loves you not for who you are, but for who He is!
  • When he looks at you, he doesn’t see your mistakes or your past!
  • He only sees the blood that Jesus shed for you on Calvary!

  1. Grace has a soft spot for people who have a weak spot.
  • God does not pick on you when you make mistakes; He picks you up when you make mistakes.
    • 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
  • Sometimes deliverance comes through disappointment.

  1. When God is speaking, He knows the end from the beginning.
  • Your future is God’s past! What you call tomorrow is God’s yesterday.
  • Man waits for the fruit, God knows the seed!
  • Romans 4:17

  1. You can not be a commander until you are ready to be commanded.
  • Your next elevation is in your next instruction
  • Don’t tell God to order your steps if you are not willing to step into what He has ordered.
  • Opportunities are always disguised as service.
  • Can you serve?

  1. Purpose is not a destination! It is obeying God in EVERY season!
  • You don’t know your calling because you haven’t acted on what God has sent you to do!
  • What you want to do has aborted what you’re supposed to do!
  • Don’t miss the thing that leads to the THING!

  1. A closed mouth is a closed destiny!
  • Any vision without an opposition is an illusion in disguise!
    • Pain and pleasure don’t mean it’s time to give up; it means it is time to give birth!
  • If you want to change where you’re staying, change what you’re saying!
    • Your blessing is customized to you!
  • When life hits you, there is a name that is ABOVE every name, every knee, and every tongue!
    • What you call a delay may just be your development.

As you reflect on your service, be sure not to overlook what you have been sent to do. Because through the “little things”, God can lead you to YOUR thing.
