The worship night and youth leader’s session absolutely exceeded my expectations! I was excited to see what God would do as I prepared for the second night of the conference. As the service began, Brother Asher invited everyone to the altar to pray. The prayer topics were on focus and expectations…the atmosphere of prayer set the tone for the night.
We were blessed to engage in a powerful spoken word by Amber Jogie. Her ministration carried such grace and determination. Her message was one of divine instruction as she stated, “The increase that is coming is greater than you, so it can’t come from you but through you!” And boy did that strike me! This made me realize that God’s promise of increase is not just about me but also to impact my world.
Dr. Frank Ofosu-Appiah’s sermon shared a similar message, within the context of Ecclesiastes 3:1-2. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,”
- Seasons are periods where specific things happen. Every season has its opportunities.
- When you fool around and miss your seasons, you can set your life back drastically.
- Don’t allow your past to hold you! The past holds no promise!
- Once you accept Christ, you have become NEW!
- 2 Corinthians 5:17
- Everything has its own burden. Sometimes even the blessings of prosperity have its own problems.
- Sometimes opportunities can often be disguised as problems.
- You need to want to get out of where you are, in order for you to be where you want to be!
Finally, as a YEM family, we were privileged to celebrate the birthday of the amazing man of God, Dr. Frank Ofosu- Appiah. Many, including his wife, Mrs. Mary Ofosu-Appiah, attested to his kind and compassionate character.
