The Leadership Experience (2)

A follow up panel by Ps. Plange and Ps. Appiah echoed the same Leadership themes Ps. Appiah shared in his sermonette. Here are some gems from the discussion:

  • Leadership comes with personal conviction; once convicted you cannot run away. Conviction propels us into a preparation stage.
  • We must be good stewards of the responsibility God has entrusted into our hands. Ministry must break yokes and impact lives.
  • Personal development builds character that sustains a leader.
  • The mark of a leader is when their work can continue in their absence. Leaders produce after their kind.
  • You must always ensure that your words match your action. If people cannot trust what you say, then they cannot commit to you.
  • No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.
  • It may be your time, but it may not be your turn.
  • It is necessary to have structures in place to account for every soul that is won, to assure that they remain in the body of Christ and have the support they need as they develop in Christianity.
  • We need to have a store of knowledge downloaded in us, that the Holy Spirit may bring to remembrance what we know. Just keep studying.
  • You must be intentional with your time. Block time on purpose for the things of God.
  • Find time to study your mentors and fathers and ask questions! No one answers a question they are not asked.

Final words from Ps. Gerald Plange: “Pay attention to the pitfalls associated with leadership, which are”;

  • Pride, for it goes before the fall.
  • The lust of the flesh; God put desires in us that are for an appointed time. We must be diligent that we do not fall captive to them.
  • The love of money.

Night Two Empowerment service

The stage was set for an amazing empowerment service by the YEM worship team. Ps. Appiah preached a message Help is on the way and followed up with prayer and laying on of hands upon attendees. It was a powerful service followed by testimony of personal revelation that God our Father had placed in the heart of each unique individual. Attendees left with tangible information they could utilize in their daily manifestations of leadership. Indeed God was at work – to Him we ascribe all the glory and power forever, Amen.
