PURPOSE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
God’s purpose for creating you is for Him to have a personal relationship with you just as a Father relates to the child he loves. The only appropriate way of relating to God is with your spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). It’s important for you to realize that God made you in such a way that we need to depend on Him in order to be complete. Remember when God breathed into man, he became a living soul. In the Hebrew, the word for soul means an entity that depends on another.
“Without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5. “So then, those who are in flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:8. The Christian life isn’t hard, it’s simply impossible without dependence on God!
As long as Adam depended on God, he reigned as king over God’s creation. However, when he decided to dispense of God, he became a slave of Satan. In the same way, you can live your God-ordained, abundant life if and only if you learn to depend on God the Holy Spirit to lead, teach, and guide you. He is your indispensable source of life. Once your relationship with the Holy Spirit is right, your soul (will, intellect, and emotions) will line up with God’s plan and purpose for your life. Your body will then move according to the dictates of the Holy Spirit working through your spirit and soul to execute the greater works Jesus promised you will do (John 14:12).
Ask yourself…is anything out of order in your life? Is insecurity, fear of the unknown, or threats from within and without draining faith out of your life? Remember the Holy Spirit brings order to chaotic situations, gives life to lifeless beings, and brings hope to hopeless circumstances.
The reason most people don’t want to be filled with the Holy Spirit is because they want to live the way they want to live. However, if you need restoration to a place of spiritual fruitfulness, your answer is the Holy Spirit. All you need to do is to tap into His fullness by asking Him to be your personal helper. Jesus did not leave us to struggle with living Christian life alone and so gave us the Holy Spirit who lives within us for our benefit. You can’t do without the Holy Spirit. Remember He’s on earth to help you achieve your God-ordained purpose. The good news is that He’s only a prayer away. He’s waiting for your call. Will you call Him right now for His indispensable help?
Pray this prayer in faith:
Dear God, I thank you that you love me and you want me to be your child. I acknowledge that I am a sinner, living under the weight of your just penalty. I also acknowledge that you sent your only beloved Son Jesus to pay the penalty for my sin when He died on the cross. For this, I thank you. Now, God, I am sorry for my sinful lifestyle. I repent of my sin. I want to begin a new life with you. Please send your Holy Spirit to live in me to help me live a life that pleases you. Thank you for answered prayer. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer faithfully, your spirit has been recreated. You have received the new birth. In other words, you have been born again. On the other hand, if you are already born again, you need to acknowledge that the Holy Spirit is indispensable in every aspect of your life. It takes the Holy Spirit to bring meaning and order to your life. Where there is chaos, He creates order and tranquility. He alone can turn the listless situations in your life into productive ones. He is ready to help you exchange every hopeless situation in your life for abundant, fruitful living.
We are praying for you!
