The greatest form of multiplication is when Jesus said that it was for OUR benefit for Him to leave in order for the Holy Spirit to come dwell within us. (John 16:7)

On Saturday night, President Prince Edmond Kumah taught us an influential message titled “The Multiplying Leader”. Expanding on YEMs theme scripture, Jeremiah 30:19, he broke down the fundamental depictions of multiplication and how to be a leader who multiplies. He emphasized that there is something within us that persuades us to yearn for more, and that thing is multiplication, after all God commanded us “to be fruitful and multiply”.

What is Multiplication?
Multiplication implicates expansion rather than a simple increase. During a season of multiplication, the same value yields numerous results.

What is Leadership?
The widespread definition of leadership is influence. Leadership involves guiding ]\and inspiring groups of individuals to work towards a common goal.

Characteristics of a Multiplying Leader

As President Prince led us through Matthew 25:14-30, we learned about the elements of a leader who multiplies. They would be known as an MVP with order.

  • M = mentality: This individual has the mindset and instinct to multiply.
    • What have you done with the gifts and talents God has given you?
    • Many of us don’t have the mindset to multiply, but rather to consume.
    • “Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.” (John 6:5-6 NKJV)
  • V = value: We must place value on what God has entrusted to us!
    • When we compare our gifts to those of others, we end up feeling depressed instead of inspired.
    • You must also place value on yourself! “If you don’t value or respect what God has given you, why should somebody else?”
    • “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” (I Timothy 4:12 NKJV)
  • P = praise: They live a life of praise!
    • A person who can express gratitude to God for what they have will experience abundance(multiplication).
    • Thanksgiving precedes multiplication!
    • “There is always something to be thankful for; don’t be the person who overlooks it!”
    • “And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.” (John 6:11 NKJV)
  • Order: the formal structure of things
    • God and the Holy Spirit thrive in an orderly environment!
    • Prior to experiencing multiplication, order must be established!
    • Without order, chaos would prevail, leading to a breakdown in structure, a lack of stability, and increased uncertainty.
    • “Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.” (John 6:10 NKJV)
    • “For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.” (1 Corinthians 14:33 NIV)

As I reflected on Day One of the conference, i was challenged to think through questions such as:
–    How can I better appreciate and utilize the talents and resources entrusted to me by God?
–    What can I do to develop a mindset of gratitude and acknowledge the abundance in my life?
–    What actions can I implement to bring more organization and coherence to my personal and professional pursuits?

While my responses to these questions may seem cliché, it is essential. As we seek growth and influence, we must prioritize prayer and the Word of God. The more knowledge we have of the Word, the greater impact we will have not only on our own lives but also on those around us.

Take a moment to pray and seek God’s guidance on becoming a multiplying leader. Reflect on the teachings from this message and ask God to help you implement these principles in your daily life. Together, let’s embrace the power of multiplication and witness the incredible transformation it brings.
