CHECKPOINT

Starting is relatively easy but being consistent is a different ball game! We often start with excitement and enthusiasm but soon we lose interest and deflect from the goals we set for our spiritual lives, career, health, relationships, etc.

It’s great that you know that God has called you to greatness, wealth, and influence. The question is, HOW do you get there? How are you improving the quality of your life?

You owe it to yourself to examine your  progress/growth and to make an assessment to determine if you’re on the right path to achieving the goals you set to accomplish this year. Your next level demands a BETTER version of you, but how are you developing yourself for it?

Consider the creation of the world. God made progress each day and celebrated His progress along the way by admiring what He had done thus far “…And God looked upon all that He had made, and indeed, it was very good.” Gen 1:31

Celebrate small and big wins. Did you pray for 30 minutes alone for the first time? Celebrate. Did you begin reading a book? Celebrate. Did you apply for the academic course/program? Celebrate. Celebrate your progress briefly, and then move on to more significant growth.

If you began this year with any goal or desire to grow academically, spiritually, career-wise, etc. – you are long overdue for a stop at the CHECKPOINT to examine your growth!

What steps have you taken towards your goals today? In the past week? In the past month?

There is no value in setting goals but not putting in the effort towards achieving the growth you desire.

GOD is a finisher, and just as Jesus imitated God’s character, we ought to do the same.

God does not walk away, quit, or partially complete. He finishes what starts! If you already have your goals this is the time to evaluate how much you’ve accomplished. If you are yet to start working on your goals, this is your sign to START! You only experience growth if you start!

“God has done all this to help you. So, now that you believe in Christ, you must grow as believers. Try very much to do always what is good.
Then you should grow to know God more and more. Then you should learn to rule yourselves properly. That is not all. You should also learn to be patient and brave. And you should serve God in a good way.
You should not only serve God, but you should be kind to other believers like your own brothers and sisters. And you should not only love other Christians, but you must also love all people.
You should grow as believers in all these ways, more and more. When you live in that way, it will show that you really know our Lord Jesus Christ. People will see that your life has good results.” 2 Peter 1:5-8 (EASY version)
